We acknowledge that different members are at different stages in their spiritual
life, and so have different needs. Elaion's vision of Greek religion is
traditional, and thus quite specific. It is important that people can explore
how best they fit in with our mission and organisational culture.
For that reason, Elaion offers a three-tiered membership process, overseen by
the Membership Council.
Preliminary
Interested individuals can join our sister email list,
Hellenic Recons.
Once they have introduced themselves to the group and are comfortable with
traditionalism and Elaion, they can contact the Membership Council (membershipcouncil at elaion dot org), who will
then send them the affiliate questionnaire. The purpose of the questionnaire is
to gauge the applicants understanding of Elaion, and what we stand for. If the
Membership Council is satisfied with the response, affiliate membership is
granted.

Affiliate membership
Affiliate membership grants the member access to the central Elaion mailing
list. They will receive information regarding rituals, events and projects, and
they are free to engage in discussion with other members. An affiliate member
will be assigned a mentor, with whom they can discuss
any issue relating to Hellenismos and Elaion.
Full membership
The affiliate member can apply for full membership after three months. Full
membership requires the completion of a membership questionnaire, and the
receipt of a character reference from their mentor. Once the Membership Council
has agreed to grant full membership, the affiliate is expected to swear an oath
to uphold the values of Elaion for the period of their membership.
Full membership entails organisational support for the establishment of
worship groups and access to the wider resources of Elaion.
